UPDATE: PLEASE FIX MY DOOR & GET RID OF THE ROACHES (An open letter/petition from Campus Square Apartments Resident Jason C. Waite To Hardin Properties #2)

September 25, 2008

Dear Hardin Properties,

My name is Jason C. Waite and I'm the resident of Campus Square Apartments in Denton, TX. Yesterday sent the open letter entitled "Please Fix My Door." This is my update.

As you may recall, yesterday, Wednesday September 24Th, I had made a total of seven requests to the Campus Square management staff to have my door lock/door fixed. As you might recall most of the time the door works, but rarely and on occasionally it sticks. Therefore, I can't lock my door, and even sometimes I can't unlock it.

As of today September 25Th, 2008 I went to the Campus Square management staff to see my door lock once and for all was fixed, but my head manager replied, "well we've got to get a hold of a locksmith." ... and I replied back, "when"?

This morning, at 10:00AM, September 25Th, 2008, I decided that I should make a request to have documentation of the locksmith coming by late yesterday afternoon. I did catch it on video. The manager of the facility replied, "You want a trout don't you"?

Again, I video taped the locksmith- working on my door in front of the manager of Campus Square, as well have documented him via video tape that my door lock/door was indeed malfunctioning and was "sticking". Being that I have the video, I guess I don't need a receipt, but would be nice being that I though tenants had a right to receive such a receipt of maintenance. Doesn't the State of Texas require apartments to require such? And if my manager doesn't comply with my request what is the necessary response?

In addition, yesterday Wednesday 24, 2008, after the main manager was frustrated I wanted my doors to lock and unlock properly, she stated that Hardin Properties was ready to kick me out of my lease. All for wanting my property and persons to be safe she would say this? I know she was angry and all, but I don't think she should allege to retaliating because I felt like I was unsafe or something illegal was going on. I do know that Hardin Properties would never do such a thing so I didn't take her to heart.

Lastly, I'd like to say, that I have roaches in my apartment- as of today September 25, 2008. I shot video tape today if she, the manager of the Campus Square Apartments would like documentation. Even other residents in the Campus Square Apartments say there is an epidemic of roaches. Hopefully our apartment manager takes care of the problem/roaches quicker then she has my door.

Thanks for all your support,
